I am a home health occupational therapist, and often see patients who don't want or need a hospital bed, but do need some sort of rail to grasp when they are getting in or out of bed. This support rail works great, is fairly easy to install, and is inexpensive. The rail is fairly low profile - this is NOT a guard rail to keep someone from falling out of bed! But most people like it because it doesn't stick up too high, and isn't that noticeable in the bedroom.
I have this product which I bought for my 90 year old mother. It is very sturdy and well made. My neighbor asked me to order one for her and she also loves it. I am now ordering another one for her for the other side of the bed. I love this product and it has given my mother and neighbor a stable and strong rail to grab onto when trying to get into and out of bed.
THIS IS VERY WELL MADE. I was so happy I read another review as to how to make this shorter because just by the directions you would not figure it out. It is very sturdy ...easy to put together.........just hold it up to the bed as your putting it together ...don't wait until your finished. I needed to turn the bottom floor leg pieces around....I took off the RUBBER END THAT PROTECTS THE FLOOR. Turn the piece around so the holes are now closer to the floor....this will shorten the frame.
