    MAGICAL AF

Guys. I recently had a follow up foot surgery where the doctor ended up cutting off my old scar, and I wanted to really give this one my best attention and see what new items were on the market (first was 10 years ago). The scar is a decent length (about 5 inches long) and although it already was a little smaller and easier to care for than the last one, I wanted to do my best with caring for it. I’ve used the creams and all and felt they did okay but wanted the best results I could get. After some research, silicone scar sheets kept popping up in mentions but nothing super definitive. Well, I used the creams and after doing toe stretches, saw that part of my scar was becoming more pronounced from stretching the skin. So I bit the bullet and got my hands on these. I really wasn’t sure what to expect. My. Goodness. I wore one for about 24 hours (they’re waterproof through showers so could wear longer) and I swear to you - part of my scar basically disappeared and the rest is more flat, softer and lost any pink/redness. My jaw dropped and I sat there for a good 5 full minutes staring at my scar flabbergasted. It was comfortable too - I barely remembered I had it on. No irritation or sensitivity to it. It stayed on perfectly. I washed it and let it dry overnight and it’s sticky again because they’re reusable (just mild soap and water - easy care!). I can’t believe I haven’t heard more people discuss these! 1000% worth it and I only had one use so far. I’ll update after longer use if anything changes but oh my. If you’re on the fence....do it!

    as recommended by my surgeon

I have been using Biocorneum silicone cream twice a day on my scars after surgery, as recommended by my surgeon. I came across the Mepitac silicone tape while looking for something to block the UV rays from hitting my scars while tanning. These strips are sheer, so they did not block the UV rays, but they have worked incredibly well to reduce the purple area of my scars and change the last bit of purple to white. I have been using Biocorneum underneath the Mepitac tape and my surgeon is blown away with the progression of my scars. I am someone who scars easily and whose scars generally heal very slowly (they stay purple for a long time). I highly recommend using this tape, especially in combination with Biocorneum if you can afford it. The tape holds up well to sweat. I shower every day and work out every other day. I would change the tape every other day, but I could have left it on there for longer, if desired. Lastly, every time I changed the tape I re-applied the Biocorneum. I highly recommend this combined usage of Mepitac and Biocorneum.
